Aaand it's done!


Hello reader,

As of now, we are done with this project. This was the final week we could work on the project. 
This week we did some bugfixing and focused on making the game look more alive.
So without any more delay, let’s start.

What have we been working on the past week?

------------------------- PROGRAMMERS-------------------------

Moving Menu

The menu background was stale, it was just an image. I worked on it this week and right now it swings from the left to the right.
This makes it look more alive than it was before.

Menu buttons

Last week we got the feedback that the buttons were weird. The selected button was dark and the other buttons were light.
Jannis reversed this and right now the selected button is lighter than the other buttons.
This looks much better.


Another thing he implemented is button squashing when you select it.
This also gives a nicer feeling to the menu. Both of these changes make the menu feel alive.


Character selection

The character selection screen could use some love. Jannis made the “press ‘x’ to join” text flicker.
It gives the character selection screen the extra flair.


Falling boulder

Throwing of the boulder has always been a hard task to do, I made it easier to throw it off.
When the boulder is on the edge now it falls off instead of being completely off the plank.
This is hard to see and to notice this you have to play the game.

The steering wheel

Since last week we have a steering wheel, this did nothing and was just static.
For this week I made the steering wheel rotate.
This small thing makes the ship look more alive.


Character color representation

You can change colors for weeks now but we never made the UI Represent the colors of the players.
All the icons were the base color (which is red).
Jannis used the assets that Yano made to update the UI.
Right now when you select a color the UI Also gets that color.


General bug fixes and number tweaking

A lot of time this week was spent again on bug fixes.
Some of them were: Boxes that were able to push boulders, When going into menu the selected button does not seem selected, etc ...

New oven

Yano worked on the oven texture this week


Bird

He also made the bird more threatening, because seagulls are not threatening, the bird is also animated.

Character UI

Yano made the UI Variations for the different suit colors.


New boulder

The boulder mesh has never been touched when it was made. 
Yano worked on the boulder and on a new texture.

Ship texture

Jasper worked on the ship's texture.
